Eat, Pray, Love

Over the weekend, my husband Jack and I visited old friends and family in Phila. and NJ. The main purpose of the trip was to attend an unveiling of my in-laws burial stone. It was a time to remember and honor them. Before the ceremony took place, I had a day with the “girls” and went to see Eat Pray Love with a stellar cast besides the ever reliable Julia Roberts to bring the whole movie to an attractive and well acted screen play. The 6 of us sat so content watching the movie until ALL the movie credits were done. It was like we were transfixed in our seats with the idea that our lives could have such richness, depth and freedom to explore our other selves one day. Secretly we may ask ourselves, when do we get to do what Julia just did? That was very cool.

Afterward we ventured to a nearby Italian restaurant that had seating outdoors, just like Julia in Italy. We were so excited to discuss our points of view of the movie and question how much of the movie was similar to the book. We were pleased with the outcome. Some of the “girls” had the good fortune to meet Elizabeth Gilbert, the author of the book at her boutique store in Frenchtown, NJ. They said she was very friendly, accessible, and took a photo with another fan.

We vote that you read the book, see the movie and then book a ticket to an exotic place to eat pray love.

Be well,
Kim

    Hello Kim!

I’m writing to say how much I enjoy your show, and that I also felt a kinship to Julia’s character in Eat Pray Love. The return to, or rather discovery of, authentic self is something so many of us strive for. What a journey! I’m glad you enjoyed your trip and say the movie with “the girls”! ~miss you! ~m
